It's the peacful Edo period in Japan, and ninjas are hardly needed anymore. Karyu, an especially skilled ninja, needs to do are an employed killer. She actually is inspired to kill a merchant, but when she's there, she finds that his servant is in reality a ninja, who is just as skilled as Karyu. Her name is Uzume. Karyu and Uzume then compete against eachother in the bloody battle for superiority.
